The Espace interculturel

The Espace interculturel is a project run by Université Laval's Language school, with the support of the Faculty of Humanities . Its vision is to offer non-Francophones and Francophones at Université Laval a place that is accessible, attractive and equipped to ensure regular use.

Who we are

The Espace interculturel can host all kinds of events (conferences, workshops, meetings, etc.) for students taking second or foreign language courses, to meet program requirements, in anticipation of a mobility session, or to enrich their personal and professional profile.

The Espace interculturel is open to all members of the university community wishing to participate in activities encouraging linguistic and cultural exchange.

Organize an activity at the Espace interculturel

The Espace interculturel is a place of exchange, respect and discovery, where every activity contributes to showcasing the cultural diversity of our community. It hosts activities of all kinds, organized by the Espace team or by members of the university community. Two main categories of activities are offered: those open to all, and those aimed at students who learn French.

Activities open to all include jigs, international dinners, the Valentine's Day open mic, multilingual exchanges and more. Student associations also offer movie nights, art exhibitions, various language tutorials and discussion groups.

Fill in the form to propose an activity. All requests will be evaluated by the person in charge of the Intercultural Space.

Tutoring

The Student Association of the Integrated Baccalaureate in International Studies and Modern Languages (ABEILL) is organizing, with the help of the Fonds d'investissements étudiants de la Faculté des lettres et des sciences humaines (FIE), a language tutoring project to accompany language courses.

The tutoring program is free of charge and is aimed at students from Elementary 1 level to Intermediate 2, or any equivalent (please note that students must be enrolled in a language course in the Winter 2025 session in order to participate).

Schedules are subject to change at the beginning of each session.
