French as a Second or Foreign Language at École de langues UL

French as a Second or Foreign Language

With more than 200 million speakers on 5 continents, French is the foreign language that we learn most often after English. The study of French not only allows you to discover a rich cultural universe, especially in the fields of arts, science and architecture, but is also an asset for anyone considering an international career.

Intensive courses (5 weeks)

In addition to our 5-week for-credit program, we also have a 5-week not-for-credit program qualifying for continuing education units (CEUs)*. Our team of experienced teachers and enthusiastic group leaders will provide you with a solid grounding in French. And our mix of classroom learning and sociocultural activities gives students plenty of hands-on opportunities to practice.

The intensive programs are offered during the summer semester:

  • Summer session 1: May 11 to June 12, 2020
  • Summer session 2: July 6 to August 7, 2020

Admission (for all candidates)

To be eligible for our French as a Foreign Language programs, you must:

  • Have a language other than French as your first language
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the beginning of the program
  • Take the online placement test

École de langues does not accept audit students.
